Corrie was the start of Tresaith for us. Although we have had corgis
for the 31 years we have been married, we only had a few litters in
our early years of being married and did not have a kennel name.
Tresaith was a lovely place on the shores of Wales that I went with
my family every August for our Holidays and it seemed like the
perfect name as we would take our family corgis with us every year
to walk the cliffs and play with us on the beach. Corrie was
imported from Wales in 1990 as a 4month old puppy. She was bred by
Doris Mason. Although we did not get Corrie for showing she put the
bug in us as she was so pretty. She was a little big for showing in
this country. Corrie was and is the most playful of all our corgis
and full of personality. She was my first obedience dog and was very
quick to catch on herding the sheep. She always enjoys the day care
and wants to take part in all the games and singsongs. She will be
nine this coming year but certainly does not think its time to be a
couch potato. She still tries to pop all the bubbles the children
blow and even with her arthritis in her back knees, she gets
acupuncture to keep her in good shape from Dr Gloria Weintrab. She
loved being a mom in her early days and still likes to fuss over
other pups that the younger corgis at Tresaith occasionally have.
She is definitely the alpha dog at Tresaith.
We were deeply saddened to lose our lovely girl Corrie this winter
(2001) right after she turned 11. She just did not know how to slow
down and her heart just went while she was asleep one night. We will miss Corrie more than you can ever imagine.
